Singing to Communicate

Description

This pre-accredited course encourages learning English skills through singing. Singing can be a source of inspiration, imagination, and motivation for learners. It can break-down barriers to learning and engage students in building verbal literacy, language and communication skills through the development of written work through script development, songwriting and character development as well as using performance skills development and performance project work to build confidence and communication skills.

This course aims to use singing as a way to build students’ confidence whilst further developing their knowledge of English. Students will learn language and literacy skills through writing, overcome their fear of communication, gain confidence in a supportive environment and learn to feel comfortable in learning settings. Students will have improved confidence and self esteem through the performance skills development and project management skills. Students will also develop some production skills by taking part in GEALC events.
