The Centre

Glen Eira Adult Learning Centre Inc. (GEALC) is an award-winning, not for profit community-based registered training organisation and charity. Since 1986, this Learn Local organisation has been providing quality, affordable, accessible education for adults. The Centre offers a wide range of programs for people who want to improve their English language, literacy, and computer skills, and extend their involvement in activities in the workplace and the community. GEALC works actively with all levels of government and community organisations in order to provide educational opportunities to adults in the Glen Eira area.

GEALC’s mission statement is:

To enable and support people in our community to achieve their aspirations through inclusive educational and social programs that enhance wellbeing and reduce isolation and insecurity.

GEALC’s Purpose:

Under clause 2 of the constitution, GEALC has the following Purpose:

Glen Eira Adult Learning Centre Inc is a public institution which has the charitable purpose of advancing social and public welfare by:

1. Providing opportunities for adults to fully participate in society through further education, employment and community inclusion.
2. Advancing mental health and preventing social isolation;
3. Providing a physical location where it supports individuals to undertake activities, or work on projects, in the company of others.
