Description
This 50-hour pre-accredited program over two days, is for adult learners who are thinking about entering the hospitality industry. The course is designed to develop knowledge and practice skill development in hospitality through discussions, workshops, excursions and practical hands-on learning. At each stage you will also be developing employability skills of teamwork, communication, problem-solving and self-management.
Topics include but are not limited to:
- Introduction to the hospitality industry
- Understanding employment options
- Introduction to OH&S
- Basic food safety and hygiene
- Customer service skills development
- Technology in the workplace
- Coffee making and more!
Choose from two options:
Option 1 – Ready for Hospitality (Wednesday AM)+ Intro to Coffee Making & Food Handling (Friday PM)
Develop foundational hospitality skills alongside practical skills in coffee making and safe food handling.
Option 2 – Ready for Hospitality (Wednesday AM) + Cooking to Communicate (Friday AM)
Develop hospitality skills through practical cooking activities that also support communication, teamwork and confidence.

Refund Policy
For fee paying students, a full refund will be given if the student cancels 5 working days prior to the course commencement date. Otherwise an administration fee of $20 will be deducted.
No refund will be given once a course has commenced, unless the student can provide evidence (medical reasons, personal problems, personal loss). In this case a refund will be calculated on a pro rata basis.
If a course is cancelled by GEALC, a full refund will be given.
