Intro to Community Services

Description

This 45-hour (over 2 terms) pre-accredited program is for adult learners who need to develop literacy and numeracy skills to increase their chances of employment or further study within the community services sector.

The activities support learners to gain vocationally contextualised foundational skills through practical and applied learning activities. Each module provides opportunities for learners to participate in individual, small group or whole class activities, helping them to build confidence and develop their skills.

  • Explore community services
  • Organising daily tasks
  • First point of contact
  • Person-centred approach
  • Looking after yourself
  • Community events
  • Care standards
  • Working with others
  • Using technology.

Learners must have a Pre-Intermediate level of English to participate in this course (suitable for EAL Levels 2 and 3).

Refund Policy

For fee paying students, a full refund will be given if the student cancels 5 working days prior to the course commencement date.  Otherwise an administration fee of $20 will be deducted.

No refund will be given once a course has commenced, unless the student can provide evidence (medical reasons, personal problems, personal loss).  In this case a refund will be calculated on a pro rata basis.

If a course is cancelled by GEALC, a full refund will be given.
