Student of the Term Award

The ‘Student of the Term Award’ is an awards program that recognises a student’s individual achievements, their overall improvement and their commitment to learning throughout the term.  At the end of each term, course tutors can nominate one of their students to receive this award.

Term 1 2024 Student Award

This term’s award goes to:

ZHENG PEI GUO

Peter came to Australia 30 years ago from China with no English. He has worked hard to set up a good life for his family. He has been at GEALC since 2021 and has always been a regular class attendee. He is polite, friendly, & helpful to other students and is happy to share his knowledge about life in Australia.

Term 2 2024 Student Award

This term’s award goes to:

VICTORIA FROES VILLELA

Victoria embraces change and seeks opportunities with optimism.  In the six months she has been in Australia, she has improved her English, is soon to start a Certificate III in Early Childhood and also applying for work.  We congratulate her on these achievements!

Term 3 2024 Student Award

This term’s award goes to:

HUONG THI PHAM

Huong (Hana) is from Vietnam. She has been studying with GEALC since April 2024.  She is highly conscientious, friendly, polite and a pleasure to teach. She always brings positive energy and a warm smile to class. Hana is eager to learn and always works diligently to improve her language skills.

Term 4 2024 Student Award

This term’s award goes to:

MING ZHOU

Ming joined GEALC in 2022. He studies three days a week and will complete his EAL (Beginners) certificate this term. His positive attitude makes him a valuable class member. He has worked hard to improve his English and we are delighted to see him moving to EAL 1 next year.

Term 1 2023 Student Award

This term’s award goes to:

IRYNA PALISHCHUK

Iryna is always first to arrive to class and first to complete homework and class tasks with a smile. She is always interested in everything going on and enthusiastic in conversation groups. A pleasure to work with.

Term 2 2023 Student Award

This term’s award goes to:

RAISSA BOLOTNIKOVA

Raissa has been in Australia for more than 20 years, but she hasn’t been able to spend much time on studying English until now, when she is in her eighties! Raissa inspires us all with her sharp mind and positive attitude to learning. She says “I love learning, I will study always”

Term 3 2023 Student Award

This term’s award goes to:

SICHUAN ZHANG 

Sichuan is a quiet achiever. He is focused on his learning with good learning strategies. He is respectful of others and respected by them. He is a calming influence in the class- as well as being helpful, polite and friendly.

Term 4 2023 Student Award

This term’s award goes to:

GLADYS FRANCO LOAIZA

Gladys has been studying online consistently throughout the Covid years. She has always been helpful to other students and been keen to try to improve her English.

Term 1 2022 Student Award

This term’s award goes to:

XIAOYAN TANG (TINA)

Tina, from our EAL3X class, is a hard-working, dedicated and kind student who comes to all classes and completes all her work on time. She is always looking for new ways to improve her English and is happy to help her classmates.

Term 2 2022 Student Award

This term’s award goes to:

XU TING

Ting is a conscientious student who is always smiling and helps her classmates whenever they need it. Ting is always willing to offer help around GEALC and tries her best in everything she does. And she joins in with any extra activities that GEALC run as in The Friendship Garden/ Excursions/Festivals.

Term 3 2022 Student Award

This term’s award goes to:

YANJUN WENG (CAROL)

Yanjun (Carol) is a terrific student who always arrives early, does her homework and participates very actively in all class activities. Carol is also helpful with any tasks that need doing and often helps the other students in her class when required.

Term 4 2022 Student Award

This term’s award goes to:

MA XIAOGUANG (OLIVER)

Oliver is a very endearing student who is well-liked by his classmates and is gracious and helpful to others. Oliver is totally engaged with lessons and keeps teachers on their toes by asking pertinent questions. He has a calming influence and is a focused learner and a quiet achiever.
