Volunteers are an invaluable part of what keeps GEALC running. We are open to anyone with a strong passion for community. There are lots of ways you can volunteer or support the work our Centre does.
Further information about opportunities to volunteer may be obtained by contacting: info@gealc.org.au
All volunteers are required to complete a Volunteer Details form.
Committee
GEALC is governed by a community-based voluntary Committee of Management (CoM) who are elected by its members. It is autonomous and takes responsibility for its own operation and all aspects of GEALC’s governance.
Class Assistant
GEALC runs a range of English programs for migrants and our tutors often require a class assistant to provide additional educational support to students who are struggling in class.
Admin Assistant
The Volunteer Admin Assistant is a role that provides basic administrative support to GEALC’s Administration Team and the first point of contact in meeting and greeting GEALC’s clients and visitors.
Events
GEALC runs a range of community events and activities annually to connect people in the community. Event Volunteers provide support in the lead up to the event and/or on the day.
Wellbeing Volunteer
GEALC offers a range of wellbeing programs and activities to connect people in the community and to improve mental and physical health. Wellbeing volunteers assist in running our wellbeing activities.
IT 1:1 Volunteer
GEALC’s Volunteer Computer Tutor will provide additional 1:1 support to students who are struggling with their computer skills to help them develop their confidence in using technology.
