We offer a range of government subsidised skill development programs that will assist you in improving your skills for employment.

HEALTH SERVICES

This 80-hour (4 hours over 2 terms) pre-accredited program is for adult learners who need to develop literacy and numeracy skills to increase their chances of employment or further study within the health services sector or to improve their language skills in dealing with different health services in everyday life.

This course acts as a stepping-stone to provide learners with the essential vocabulary and knowledge needed to explore the vocational pathways in the health sector or to do our Medical Receptionist course. Topics include:

  ⇒ Intro to the health sector & responsibilities

  ⇒ Goal setting and learning/employment pathways in health services

  ⇒ Hygiene and infection control

  ⇒ Customer service & communication skills

  ⇒ Conduct, duty of care and confidentiality requirements in healthcare

  ⇒ Workplace Health & Safety in healthcare.

 

EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION

This 100-hour (5 hours over 2 terms) pre-accredited program is for adult learners who need to develop literacy and numeracy skills to increase their chances of employment or further study within the early childhood education sector. 

Topics include:

  ⇒ An Early Childhood Education Centre

  ⇒ Safety

  ⇒ Health & Wellbeing

  ⇒ Cultural Awareness

  ⇒ Relationships & Communication

  ⇒ Administrative Tasks. (21SFWSCHILD).

MYOB 1 & 2

In this course you will learn to set up a file and manage the financial transactions of a small business. Topics will include:
MYOB 1: a) Customer and Supplier cards b) Invoices c) Make & receive payments d) Record purchases e) Bank reconciliation
MYOB 2: a) File management & security functions b) forms & templates c) End of month functions d) GST & BAS functions.

Introduction To Business Administration

This course is designed for those who are seeking a career as an administrative assistant in offices & wish to go on to study the Certificate III in Business Admin. The program includes an introduction in workplace safety procedures, communicating in business and producing workplace documentation.

Building Employability Skills

This hands-on and supportive course will equip job seekers in preparing for work or in returning to work with confidence. It includes:

⇒ Researching job choices & looking for work
⇒ Understanding your key strengths & em-ployability skills required for work
⇒ Developing interpersonal skills – communication, teamwork, problem solving
⇒ Developing self management skills – planning and organising.

Introduction To Medical Reception

The health industry is a rapidly growing area that offers wonderful career opportunities and flexibility for full-time, part-time, casual, evenings or weekend work. This 48 hours course (over 2 terms) provides participants with training in medical terminology, reception/administration and computer skills required to work in a general practice, specialist rooms, or as a medical admin worker in a hospital. It includes:

⇒ MR1 (7 wks) – learn medical terminology and medical administration skills

⇒ MR2 (7 wks) – this is a continuation of MR1

⇒ PRACSOFTWARE (2 wks) – learn how to use a medical reception software.

Introduction To Event Management

Considering a career in Event Management? Then this pre-accredited program will provide a pathway into further study (Certificate III in Event Management) and/or work, such as an Event Planner. This 8-week program includes:
